Our Partners

The Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission (SATCC) and the Canadian International Training and Education Corp. (CITREC) have signed a partnership agreement to provide Skilled Trade assessment services to foreign nationals outside of Canada.

This unique partnership with SATCC and CITREC will allow foreign nationals who have work experience in their previous employment to obtain, advanced standing (credit) for their previous employment hours from their home country.

The Assessment process will determine credit hours that will be awarded to applicants against Canadian requirements for the similar trade. If the applicant meet or exceed “On the Job Training Hours” established by the Apprenticeship Commission they will be eligible to take the Inter provincial Journey person written examination upon their arrival in Saskatchewan, Canada. Those who achieve inter provincial “Red Seal” journey person status could earn a higher wage, and work anywhere in Canada. The assessment report is issued by Apprenticeship Commission and can be used for Canadian immigration purpose as recognition of skilled trade experience obtained outside of Canada. Employers seeking foreign workers can also request similar report to verify trade eligibility of the prospective foreign worker.
